For Volunteers

Repairing looks fun, how can i volunteer to be a Repair Coach too?
Repairing is awesome! You can fill in your details in our online sign-up form here !

I have no experience in repairing, is that ok?
Yeah we are totally cool with that! We have Repair Kopitiam Trainings where we will train you to be a Repair Coach like ourselves!
Our Repair Coaches are well equipped with knowledge in electrical repair, fabric repair and home improvement/mechanical repair and they are happy to guide you along!

I used to be a repairman myself but i’m now a retiree, how can i be a part of this repair community?
You are always welcome to come for our trainings, or if you would like to lead a repair training session that will be awesome! Do talk to us!

When and where is your Repair Kopitiam Training?
Our trainings are every Sunday morning (9am – 12noon) at the Community LAB @UWCSEA (United World College SEA- East Campus)
1 Tampines Street 73, Singapore 528704
(We hope we can have Repair Kopitiam Trainings at the west side too…)

What should i bring to Repair Kopitiam Training?
Bring pizza. HAHAHAHA.. Just kidding.
Bring an open mind to learn new repair skills, make new friends, share your experiences!

For General Public

I have some broken things at home which i would like to repair. What should i do?
You can bring your broken items to our free public Repair Kopitiam event, where our skilled Repair Coaches will guide you on how to diagnose and fix the problem.

Oh? It’s a free event? So you can repair for me for free?
No, no, no. We will TEACH you on how to repair it.

When and where is the Repair Kopitiam public event?
Our Repair Kopitiam public event happens every last Sunday of the month.
East side: Block 897A, Tampines Street 81
West side: Block 444, Jurong West Ave 1
Time: 10am – 3pm (last registration at 2pm)

Can you repair my broken heart?
Sadly no. ._.
But we CAN do electrical repair, fabric repair, home improvement / mechanical repair. Eg. toasters, iron, fan, torn clothes,  zippers, structure strengthening, broken handles. Just to name a few.

What about TV and computer?
Unfortunately, we are unable to repair TV, computer, laptop, handphone, shoes and bicycle. There are a lot of safety risk when repairing TV as it is a complex electrical appliance. Especially TVs with Cathode-Ray Tube (CRT).
As for the others, we do not want to take away the jobs of existing repair business in the market.

Do you guarantee that you can fix my item?
As this is a free service, we do not guarantee that we can fix your item entirely. Our repair coaches are just volunteers who will do their best to solve the broken problem up to their capability.[/fusion_text]
